RSS Feeds

You have a per user rss feed at /users/your_user_name/rss - and there is a site wide rss feed at /places.rss.

Flickr integration

Flickr is an awesome photo-sharing website run by Yahoo. Whenever you bookmark a place with we♥places, we look for photos from flickr that might be of the place you added. Just add a new place, then click on a photo that looks good - and we'll copy that photo from flickr and use it as the photo for that place.

We retain a link to the original photo on flickr so you can visit the original photographer.

KML feeds

KML is a way of sharing information about places with other websites and programs. If you go to your page on we♥places, you will see a button labeled 'kml'. Click on this button to get a list of all your places in kml. You can use this url to view your places on lots of different websites.

Here are some examples:

View on your iphone

Photo-26

You can view your places on your iphone - just open up the maps application on your iphone, then enter this url into the 'address search' bar.

Your URL: http://www.weheartplaces.com/users/benn/kml

You can then click the 'locate me' button (the little crosshair) and google maps will zoom in on your current location and show you any nearby places that you have bookmarked.

Blog widget

Paste the widget code below into your blog to get a list of your places on your blog. This list will be updated nightly from your bookmarks. You can change the 180px parameter to make the widget narrower or wider to fit with your blog theme.

OpenID support

We support openid for logging in. Just enter your openid url when you click 'log in' and we'll do the rest. If you don't know what openid is - it's a way to remember less passwords on the internet. See myopenid for more information.

Brightkite integration

Brightkite is a cool site for recording where you go in your day to day travels. If you go to your account settings, you can enter your brightkite username, and we will suck the places you have been from your brightkite activity feed, and add them to your 'places i've been' page in we♥places.

This is a good way to start populating your we♥places account. Your friends can see the places you've been on brightkite.
